Have you heard? The 2018 JUNO Awards are happening in Vancouver next year.
And the event’s official press conference announcing the host, ticket information and local programming takes place on Tuesday, Nov. 21 at 11 a.m. at CBC Studios — so we can expect to see a number of initiatives around the event including big-name artists to be made public.
Vancouver mayor Gregor Robertson, Creative BC CEO Prem Gill, CARAS head Allan Reid and 2018 JUNO Host Committe co-chairs Nick Blasko and Catherine Runnals will be in attendance at the press conference.
Junoawards.ca announced on April 3, that the 47th annual awards would be held in Rogers Arena on Sunday March 25, 2018.
The last time the JUNOs were hosted in Vancouver was 2009. Comedian Russell Peters hosted the event, which saw B.C.-based artists Loverboy inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and singer Sarah McLachlan was honoured with the Allan Waters Humanitarian Award. Vancouver-based Nickelback won Group of the Year.
This is the fourth time that Vancouver has hosted the event. Previous years included 1991, 1998 and 2009.
