Riverdale fans at FVDED in the Park this weekend got a nice little treat when stars K.J. Apa and Ashleigh Murray took to the stage to perform alongside Kygo.
Apa, who stars as Archie Andrews, and Murray, who stars as Josie McCoy on the hit CW show, appeared with Kygo to perform the single It Ain’t Me on Saturday evening, the festival’s second and final night.
The electronic dance music, hip hop, and R&B music festival took place at Surrey’s Holland Park and hosted some 40,000 attendees.
Murray took over the vocal duties originally performed by Selena Gomez, while Apa returned to play guitar for the performance. Apa had previously joined Kygo at Coachella in April to play guitar for the track.
Following the performance, Murray took to social media to express her joy and revealed she now hoped to take music lessons and to start writing original music. She also noted it was her first time performing live in front of such a massive crowd.
On Riverdale, Apa’s character had a music-heavy storyline in the first season in which he was torn between choosing music or sport, while Murray’s character leads an all-girl music group and performs with regularity.
The pair’s cast mates including Camila Mendes (Veronica Lodge), Jordan Connor (Sweet Pea) and Drew Ray Tanner (Fangs Fogarty) were also in attendance at the festival.
The show begins production on its third season this coming week, with the season set to premier later this fall.
