The stars of Riverdale left Vancouver for San Diego this weekend to make their Hall H debut at Comic-Con – and fans were not disappointed.
Production on the CW drama’s third season began earlier this month in Metro Vancouver and fans lucky enough to attend the panel on Sunday were treated to a glimpse at what’s already been filmed and some tidbits about the upcoming season.
The highlight reel recaps a bit of the show’s second season, followed by season three footage beginning at the 2:07 mark.
The clip highlights Veronica Lodge’s (Camila Mendes) play for power at the end of season two; the ongoing romances between Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan), as well as between Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) and Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart); Archie Andrews’ (K.J. Apa) arrest just as he prepared to make his class president speech; and the assembled forces of Riverdale’s criminal underworld.

Fans also got a glimpse of the core four riding in Archie’s jalopy and splashing in a swimming hole, and Betty stumbling upon Alice (Madchen Amick) and Polly Cooper’s (Tiera Skobye) version of a bedtime story, lifting Polly’s twins above a fire in what appears to be a ritual of some sort.
The panel also revealed what fans can expect in the upcoming season including the introduction of the remaining two Jones family members, Jughead’s mom Gladys and his sister Jellybean; Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) and Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray) possibly moving in together while their parents make a go of a relationship; and an unexpected romance for Reggie Mantle (Charles Melton) while working at Veronica’s new speakeasy.
