At the time of this story, Vancouver hip-hop crew GRVMNT had 16 followers and three tweets to its credit on Twitter. That is probably all due to change after the group pulls out its choreographed moves on the premiere episode of Season 4 of NBC’s World of Dance on May 26.
Executive-produced by J.Lo, who also is one of the judges, the reality competition program challenges dancers to bust out their finest moves in front of the judging trio of J.Lo, Derek Hough and NE-YO, along with host Scott Evans. Based on previous seasons, the calibre of talent to be displayed is going to be intense. After all, the grand prize for the winners is a cool US$1 million.
Created in partnership with the global World of Dance brand that produces competitions and events in countries on four continents, the program has enjoyed up to one billion online views and has been broadcast on NBC since 2017.
Contestants are judged in five different categories, each worth 20 points. A perfect score of 100 is what every competing crew is after.
